How to Make a Leaf Snake
This is a great one, especially in the fall when the leaves of the trees turn all kinds of amazing colors. Summer is fine, too.
Gather a bunch of leaves. They could be different sizes or colors. Naturally, they could come from different trees.
Find some dried grass straws or other hard, thin things that could be used like pins.
Long thorns from the Hawthorn bush are perfect and what we vits used for our leaf snake.
Put the leaves on the ground to make a row. Overlap them a little bit and pierce two together as seen in the second picture.
Continue until you have a long line of leaves all pinned together.
If you are lucky enough to be near a little stream or brook, you can let it float down with the flow of the water. Letting it go is part of the fun!
