The G-Crews
We’re groups of grownup vanters doing a particular job in the village. Every crew contributes for the well-being of the whole village. They all make sure things run smoothly and everyone is cared for including Mother Nature. Get ready to meet a few of our G-Crews.
SustenAnts
The SustenAnts make sure everyone in Ganterville has food to eat. They know all about the healthy, edible plants that nature has to offer. They plant crops and harvest. They forage for wild mushrooms, berries, and herbs. They also cook and preserve, and make sure there is food for everyone in every season of the year. They are experts in what is healthy and nutritious sustenance for both the body and the mind. They also make sure everything they use is sustainably grown and harvested and that Mother Nature is nourished not depleted. Their symbol is an acorn on a green triangle, which they proudly wear as an apron.
RadiAnts
The RadiAnts are in charge of light, heat, and power for the village. They use only natural sources – naturally! They transform energy from the sun, wind, and water to make everything run smoothly in Ganterville. They make sure all of it is handled in a way that’s good for the Earth, too. It’s all about clean energy and respect for our planet. They create amazing contraptions and devices to light up and power the place. They’re simply brilliant! The RadiAnts have a special sign, a blue triangle with a sun, symbolizing the amazing powers of the solar center of our planetary system.
ConstructAnts
The ContructAnts are the awesome builders of everything in Ganterville. They dig caves and tunnels in the lower part of the village. They construct bridges and comfy homes in Upper Ganterville. They make carts, boats, and furniture – all from material they find in nature. Of course, they know how to make bricks and blocks from clay and earth, too. They bring the term ‘being handy’ to new levels with their four ‘habs.’ Their symbol, a green triangle with a hammer, shows they are the ones who build it all, making Ganterville a great place to live.
AttendAnts
The AttendAnts are the caregivers of everyone in Ganterville. From a Gallavant egg, to a newly hatched Inf, then to a Vit, and finally Vanter, the AttendAnts are there to take care of us every step of the way. They are experts at Tender Loving Care (TLC). They also know a lot about healing plants and herbs and other natural ways of making sure every Gallavant stays healthy. AttendAnts wear their symbol on their acorn caps. It’s a yellow triangle with a little egg under three rays of sunshine. They sure make it possible for every Inf, Vit and Vanter to shine.
ImportAnts
Of course, no society would be complete without some ImportAnts! The ImportAnts are the critics in Ganterville. They sample the day’s menu. They try out the pea-pod-slides. They test-drive the latest model of plummobiles. Naturally, they then have very important opinions about it all. The ImportAnts also put together entertaining contests which, importantly, they help to decide who wins. Their symbol is a blue triangle with a yellow star and a question mark, showing they’re always questioning the quality of everything, looking to make things better. And so, life in Ganterville improves all the time.
HydrAnts
The HydrAnts play a vital role in Ganterville. They ensure that everyone has water to drink and that there’s enough water for the Gallavant crops. Water is amazing – it can be solid like ice, soft like snow, or even float in the air like steam! Nature could not exist without it. Floyd, one of the HydrAnts, works hard to keep Clearwater Pond from overflowing and causing a flood. He’s an expert at putting pipes and sluices together leading the overflow to be saved for future use. The HydrAnts have a special symbol – a big water drop on a blue triangle – because every single drop of water is precious and important for life in Ganterville and everywhere on Earth.
